Inspired by my Tiktok series, I figured I would just go ahead and publish the list of questions because we don’t gatekeep in this house – so without further ado, here’s the list!

Unhinged/Silly Book Club Questions

1. Who would win in a fight between Character A and Character B?
2. Who would benefit the most from therapy and why?
3. Who would you most want to kiss?
4. Who would you most want to punch in the teeth? (Guaranteed connection, they won’t fight back)
5. If X character had a Hinge profile, what would it look like? (mock it up if you feel so inclined!)
6. Who is your ‘hear me out?’
7. Who would survive the longest in a zombie apocalypse?
8. Unhinged fan cast it (no rules – anything goes)
9. Who is your crackship?
10. If the characters all showed up on Love Island, who would actually end up together/win?
11. Who would win if all the characters were on Survivor? (or any other reality show)
12. Make a playlist together that fits the mood of the book (You can do this ahead of time and play it while you chat, too!)
13. What kind of music would each of the main characters listen to?
14. (Fiction books) Discuss the US political beliefs each character probably aligns with.
15. What would the Tiktok ‘for you page’ look like for each character?
16. Vote on your ‘fan favorite’ character. Who did everyone love most? Love to hate?
17. Choose superlatives (aka “most likely to ____”) for each character.
18. “Explain it to me like I’m 5” – go around the room and take turns explaining the plot of the book like you’re explaining it to a 5 year old.
19. What’s the hill you’ll die on? What ‘unpopular’ opinion do you have about the book?
20. Play “Fuck, Marry, Kill” for any 3 characters in the book.
21. Who would Jack Black play in this movie?

Thought Provoking Book Club Questions

1. Does the title/cover/synopsis hold up to the book after reading it? What would you recommend instead?
2. (Fantasy/historical books) Who in your book club would survive the longest in this world? Would you enjoy the world at all?
3. Did you find a plot hole or unanswered question? Figure out a way to ‘retcon‘ it and make it make sense.
4. How different would the story be if the genders were swapped in the main character role? All roles?
5. If a scene in this book was painted and hung in an art museum, what scene would it be? What style would it be created in?
6. “The whole plot could have been resolved in 10 pages if _____ had happened instead?”
